ABOUT US

Who we were and what we did.

The North London Lettering Association was formed in Spring 2001 out of a desire to offer those interested in and practicing the craft of calligraphy and lettering in the area north of the Thames, an opportunity to enjoy regular monthly meetings, lectures, workshops and exhibitions.

Our numbers continued to grow over the years, and we arranged numerous displays and exhibitions throughout the area, but more recently we found it difficult to appoint officers for the work involved.

We met once a month at the Cufos Community Centre beside Alexandra Palace.

Our meetings included talks, often illustrated, given by prominent professional calligraphers and letterers, covering a variety of crafts such as bookbinding, glass engraving and stone carving.
