For the benefit of Beneys stumbling on this site whilst doing an ancestor search
(who hasn't tried their own name in Search Engines in an idle moment), the
direct line from here goes:
Charles Clement Beney (m Muriel Dorothea Neville) Keston, Oxted, Westcombe,
South Godstone, Budleigh Salterton.
William Augustus Beney (m Emily), of Beckenham, Kent
William George Beney (m G)
Charles' siblings:
Arthur (m Evelyn), Frederick William (m Irene Constance), Dorothy Emily (m
John), Robert Ernest, Ewart (m Elsie), Winnefred May (m Hugh), George Eric (m
Kitty).
William Augustus' siblings:
Georgie, Gertie, Teresa, Leonard, Frank.
Other linked surnames:
Banks, Geard, Goodman, Wallwork, Skinner, Pridden, Pringle, Kinloch Cooke,
Buckmaster, Human, Wood, Johnson.
Both the Pridden and the Goodman family trees are known in much more detail (in one case it seems going back to 1410). We would be interested in Beney information before William George. Family lore says the Beneys were Hugenots who landed in Dover, where some stayed. Where precisely they came from and whether it was one family or many, we do not know. There used to be more Beneys in the Paris 'phone book than the London one, if that is of any significance.
